Job summary

Fremont Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Milieu Therapist to cover weekend shifts. The Milieu Therapist supports patients’ bio-psycho-social needs, coordinates with the treatment team, and provides psychotherapeutic groups and family sessions.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and at least one year of clinical psychiatric experience, with licensure preferred. CPI and CPR certifications are prerequisites within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a related field required.
• One year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting and experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities required.
• Licensure: Registered and in good standing with the BBS or active license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; LCSW, MFT, or Licensed Psychologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Milieu Therapist assists patients in meeting bio-psycho-social needs and provides therapeutic treatments and crisis intervention.
• Interacts with the physician-led treatment team; facilitates psychotherapeutic groups and activities for patients and families.
• Compliance with CPI training within 90 days of employment and CPR certification upon hire.
