Job summary

Trinity Health in Silver Spring is seeking a Medical Technologist for a part-time PRN weekend position in the Microbiology department. The role covers routine and specialized lab procedures, results review and reporting, with weekend day shifts and rotating holidays to ensure patient services.

Strong collaboration with clinical staff is expected. Required is a BS in Clinical Laboratory Technology or an approved MT pathway, including clinical rotations, and eligibility for MT certification;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent with clinical rotation.
• Alternative pathway: other regionally accredited MT program with required coursework.
• New graduates to 5 years clinical lab experience acceptable if criteria met.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized microbiology procedures and reports results.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; ensures quality control.
• Participates in education programs and quality assurance activities.
• Communicates results clearly to physicians and staff.
• Works in a team to maintain workflow and test turnaround times.
