Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a part-time Medical Technologist for the weekend shift in Silver Spring. The role involves routine and specialized laboratory procedures, review of test results, and adherence to CLIA high-complexity standards. You will perform specimen processing, tests for infectious agents and antimicrobial susceptibility, and maintain equipment. Certification and ongoing training are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology (Medical Technology) or related science with rotation.
• Current or eligible ASCP, AMT, or NCA certification as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and microscopy procedures, inoculation of media, and preparation and examination of stained smears.
• Performs tests for detection/identification of infectious agents and antimicrobial susceptibility.
• Maintains equipment and performs preventive/corrective maintenance; documents actions.
• Participates in Quality Assurance and Improvement programs and training of staff.
