Job summary

WKRG-TV in Mobile, AL seeks a full-time Meteorologist / Multimedia Journalist for weekend shifts and severe weather coverage. Forecasts, presents on air, and generates weather and news content across platforms, including field reporting when required.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent), strong on-air presence, excellent communication, and deadline discipline. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong forecasting knowledge and on-air presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; clears, concise storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present weather forecasts for all platforms.
• Respond to severe weather events and breaking news as required.
• Collaborate with weather team and news managers for comprehensive coverage.
• Ensure weather and news content meets standards of integrity and production quality.
• Represent the station at events and in the community; engage with schools and groups.
• Shoot/write/edit/deliver weather and/or news stories from the field.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media.
• Assist in writing, copy editing, and coordinating weather programming.
• Fill in as Traffic Anchor when needed; other duties as assigned.
