Responsibilities

• Assist in specimen collection, receiving, processing, and distribution.
• Follow laboratory guidelines for obtaining specimens.
• Communicate relevant patient or specimen data to care providers clearly.
• Adhere to protocols for specimen packaging and transport.
• Handle patient registration and lab test ordering per protocol.
• Maintain infection control practices and proper patient identification.
• Assist in drug screen collection and processing as assigned.
• Support phlebotomists by monitoring and dispatching as needed.
• Perform laboratory tests in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Prepare laboratory equipment for testing.
