Job summary

Golden-Gardens-Assisted-Living seeks a Medication Technician to provide high quality resident care and accurately administer medications per policies and DHS guidelines. You will review ISPs, monitor conditions, mentor new staff, and support other departments to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of CBRF medication administration training and required CBRF core trainings (Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid/Choking, and Resident Rights).
• Previous caregiving experience in a CBRF or RCAC setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and team oriented.
• Understanding of and commitment to HIPAA and confidentiality protocols.
• Flexible and available to work beyond regularly scheduled hours, as well as weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to learn new technology.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Ability to work only weekends

Responsibilities

• Administer medications following the Six Rights of Medication Administration and document accordingly.
• Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report changes to the supervising nurse or manager.
• Maintain accurate medication records and secure storage/disposal of medications.
• Provide ADL assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, ambulation) and review ISP prior to duties.
• Mentor and train new caregiving staff and support onboarding.
• Ensure HIPAA confidentiality and restrict access to health information.
• Attend mandatory meetings and ongoing in-service trainings per DHS regulations.
