Job summary

Palm Valley Behavioral Health II in Cathedral City, CA is seeking an Assistant Chef/Prep Cook to support daily culinary operations and ensure high-quality meals for clients. Under the Executive Chef, you will assist with lunch and dinner preparation, ingredient prep, meal production, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment.

You will also independently manage weekend meal services and coordinate with the Chef on dietary requirements and portion sizes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily lunch and dinner preparation and menu execution.
• Coordinate with the Executive Chef on recipes, portions, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, vegetables, proteins, and grains per recipes.
• Support weekly meal prep and batch cooking when needed.
• Ensure meals are prepared safely, on time, and with consistent quality.
• Manage weekend meal production and service for Saturday and Sunday.
• Ensure proper kitchen cleaning, food storage, and end-of-shift procedures.
