Job summary

BIGHORN Golf Club in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a Prep Cook to support our culinary team by preparing ingredients and food items in advance of service, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality across kitchen operations. You will follow recipes under the direction of the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef, maintain a clean prep station, and assist with banquets, events, and daily service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in a high-volume or fine-dining kitchen environment is a plus.
• Valid California Food Handler Card.

Responsibilities

• Prepares vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry, and seafood according to recipes and prep lists.
• Washes, peels, cuts, trims, portions, and labels food items.
• Assists with preparation for banquets, special events, and daily service.
• Follows standardized recipes, knife skills, and portioning guidelines.
• Maintains a clean, organized prep station and sanitation standards.
• Operates prep equipment safely and reports malfunctions.
• Works collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff.
