The City of Suffolk is seeking a part-time Farmers' Market Facilitator to support the Suffolk Farmers’ Market and related events. Responsibilities include on-site market day facilitation on Saturdays, vendor coordination, scheduling, and promotional activities, with administrative tasks during weekdays.

The role requires strong customer service, communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Weekly hours average up to 29, with travel within Virginia for events possible.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to speak clearly and engage with vendors and shoppers.
• Experience with basic spreadsheet use and data tracking.
• Familiarity with social media for promotions and outreach.

Responsabilités

• On Saturdays 7am-3pm, assist with market setup, operations, and teardown.
• Coordinate vendor applications, fees, and vendor relations throughout the season.
• Maintain vendor records, inventory, and season-end reporting.
• Help market staff with promotions, outreach, and event planning.
• Assist with off-site events and special projects related to the market.
