Suffolk is seeking a part-time Farmers’ Market Facilitator to support weekly market operations, vendor relations, and event activities for the Suffolk Farmers’ Market. The role combines on-site market days with weekday administrative tasks and reports to the Tourism Development Manager.

The facilitator acts as the market’s primary face, ensuring a safe, vibrant, and profitable environment for vendors and shoppers, while coordinating promotions and community outreach across Virginia and the East

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of experience or training in hospitality/travel/tourism, customer service, or office operations.

Responsibilities

• On Saturdays, attendance 7am–3pm for setup, market hours, and teardown.
• Coordinate weekday vendor communications, marketing, and administrative items.
• Manage vendor applications, fees, and compliance with market policies.
• Assist with live entertainment, exhibits, and promotions for the market.
• Maintain market program records, reports, and vendor sales data.
• Provide visitor assistance, conflict resolution, and information on local attractions.
