Job summary

Champion Packaging & Distribution Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift Maintenance Mechanic for our Woodridge, IL facility. The role requires a strong electrical and mechanical background to troubleshoot and repair industrial packaging equipment and related support machinery.

The successful candidate will follow prints, schematics and manuals to perform preventive maintenance, setups, and repairs, while upholding safety policies. This is a full-time position with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
Ability to provide a set of basic mechanic’s hand tools to function.
Ability to work overtime, weekends when required.
Able to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods.
Knowledge of AC 480-120V and DC low voltage controls.
Strong troubleshooting skills in electricity and mechanics.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Tear down equipment, rebuild and replace defective parts and components; reassemble and adjust.
Assist line workers in changeovers and setup fill lines for production runs.
Perform changeovers and setups on equipment and lines; repair machinery and related equipment.
Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts; follow safety policies.
