Job summary

Preferred Care at Home - Corporate is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Anchorage, AK for 24-hour live-in weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday). The role involves caring for two adults with intellectual disabilities, assisting with ADLs, personal care, meals, transportation, and daily activities, while documenting care and coordinating with the team.

Candidates should have experience with adults with intellectual disabilities, be able to provide hands-on care for two

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Must be comfortable providing hands-on care.
• Ability to support and manage care for two clients at the same time.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Transport clients safely to appointments and community activities (vehicle provided).
• Support social engagement and promote independence.
• Monitor client behavior and respond appropriately to needs or changes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Accurately document care and communicate with the care team.
