Job summary

REACH, Inc. in Juneau is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for 24-hour shift residential support roles.

You will assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes, helping maintain independence, daily living skills, and meaningful community engagement. Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, promoting personal choice, preparing meals, assisting with transportation, documenting (ISPs) and ensuring a safe home

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

A Day in the Life of a DSP

As a 24-Hour Residential Support DSP, you will provide support in an individual's home throughout your shift, helping create a safe, comfortable, and positive living environment. Responsibilities vary based on the individual's needs but may include:

• Assisting with daily living activities and household routines
• Promoting independence and personal choice
• Preparing meals and supporting healthy living habits
• Assisting with transportation to appointments, community activities, work, or recreational events
• Supporting participation in community life and personal goals
• Maintaining a safe and well-organized home environment
• Completing required documentation and following Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Responding to support needs that may arise during the shift

This role allows you to make a meaningful impact through consistent, relationship-based support while helping individuals live successfully in their own homes.

Sleep time is available during designated overnight hours when appropriate for the individual's support needs.

Available Schedule

• 24-hour residential support shifts
• Full time and Part time available

Who We Are Looking For

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work primarily takes place in an individual's home and community
• Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to provide physical assistance when needed
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations
• Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens

Driving may be required for some assignments:

• 21+ with 3 years driving experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Current DMV report and auto insurance

Conditions of Employment:

• Must pass and maintain a background check
• CPR & First Aid certification and TB clearance required within 30 days of hire
