Brentwood Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking an Intake Counselor for a Saturday and Sunday 7 am-7:30 pm schedule to assist admissions and coordinate care. The role involves assessing needs, communicating with referrals, families, patients and staff, and supporting a smooth intake process.

The position requires a Master’s in a human service field or RN, with licensure in Louisiana preferred, and 1–2 years of psychiatric health care experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.
• Licensed Louisiana RN, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.

Responsabilités

• Responds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services
• Conducts clinical assessments; utilizes appropriate clinical forms during assessment; develops sound knowledge of applicable criteria; provides a comfortable caring approach to clients
• Documentation reviews shows that forms, notes, and other applicable written information has been completed promptly and accurately
