Job summary

Brentwood Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, is seeking an Intake Counselor to join our team of professionals dedicated to improving mental health and supporting families through compassionate care. Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.).
• Licensed Louisiana RN or licensure in social work or psychology preferred (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC).
• 1–2 years of experience in psychiatric health care; knowledge of DSM-V, mental status exam, and addiction recovery.

Responsibilities

• Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about services.
• Conducts clinical assessments; uses appropriate forms; maintains a caring approach to clients.
• Documentation reviews; forms, notes and records completed promptly and accurately.

Education

The Intake Counselorassess the needs of potential patients and facilitates the admission process; maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.

Qualifications
