Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka is seeking a Physical Therapist for PRN weekend coverage and PTO backfill. You will assess, treat, and guide patients through personalized recovery plans within a collaborative therapy team.

New graduates are welcome; licensure in Indiana and CPR certification are required. The role emphasizes leadership, education for patients and families, and involvement in multidisciplinary care to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Indiana.
• Current CPR certification.
• Clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
• Strong communication skills; able to work with families and teams.
• Ability to manage varying caseloads and schedules; weekend flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients referred to the Physical Therapy department.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and patient goals.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, therapy plans, and home exercises.
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and prepare discharge recommendations.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in staff meetings and case management.
• Oversee Physical Therapy Assistants, rehab techs, and volunteers.
• Participate in departmental initiatives and student programs.
