Job summary

InReach in Hickory, NC, is seeking friendly and caring individuals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential home setting. You will assist with meals, personal care, housekeeping, and community activities, while ensuring safety and dignity.

Position is part-time, 30+ hours on weekends (Fri-Sun), with overnight sleep stay required; driver’s license and a clear background check are required. Free meals on duty and extensive on-the-job training are provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness to help others.
• At least 21 years old; prior group home experience preferred.
• At least 6 months of previous experience working with I/DD or relevant role; verifiable.
• A valid Driver's license.
• A High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assist with meal planning and cooking.
• Instruct and assist with household cleaning, personal care & hygiene.
• Provide community recreational activities when available.
• Provide and participate in in-home leisure activities.
• Documentation of activities.
• Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
• Must be willing to drive a full-size passenger van.
