Job summary

CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES INC. is seeking a Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate patient care during weekends in the North Carolina area. The role requires coordinating with families, physicians, and the hospice team to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities include documenting care per reimbursement guidelines, participating in IDT meetings, and traveling to patient locations as needed. A current RN license and hospice experience are preferred, with weekend availability a must.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the practice state.
• Completion of nursing education from an accredited school.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in hospice preferred.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice care operations and the nurse’s role in the care team.
• Understanding of nursing practice acts, policies, procedures, and reimbursement guidelines.
• 12 hours of annual continuing education.
• CPR certification.
• Willingness to travel and participate in weekend, evening, and holiday call duties.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing theories and concepts to patient care.
• Document care in compliance with reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinate physical care with patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and agency personnel.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and quality reviews.
• Providing comprehensive hospice care with emphasis on dignity, strength, and compassion, ensuring effective communication, and contributing to team meetings for quality patient care.
