Job summary

City of Plymouth is seeking a part-time gym program assistant to help manage Plymouth Community Center open gym programs, including basketball, pickleball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. Most shifts are weekends with some evenings, totaling about 10–15 hours per week.

Responsibilities include setting up the gym, monitoring play, managing wait lists, ensuring wrist bands, and equipment maintenance. Applicants must be at least 16 and able to work until 9 PM on weeknights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to work until 9:00 PM on weeknights and on weekends.
• Confident enforcing rules with participants.

Responsibilities

• Set up the gym for program use and take down equipment at the end of the evening.
• Monitor gym activity and flex space as needed.
• Facilitate wait lists for play and manage crowd size.
• Facilitate full court to half court play as crowd size dictates.
• Ensure all participants have paid and are displaying wrist bands.
• Maintain sports equipment as needed.
