Job summary

The City of Plymouth is seeking a Custodian for the Plymouth Community Center to keep the facility clean, welcoming, and ready for events and daily activities. The role supports birthdays, playground activities, weddings, meetings, classes, and programs for all ages. Shifts are 4–6 hours, with start times varying by building activity.

Experience is preferred, but training is provided. Candidates must work independently, be reliable, and able to interact professionally with the public during busy

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred, but training is provided.
• Must be able to work independently and efficiently; capable of performing well during busy times.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness throughout the community center and its grounds.
• Complete facility set-ups and teardowns for room arrangements under the direction of the Facility Coordinator/Building Supervisors.
• Change light bulbs, wash windows, clean restrooms, restock inventory, mop floors, dust, and perform light repairs.
• Operate maintenance equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and sweepers.
• Must be able to work independently and efficiently; must be capable of working effectively during busy times.
• Must have interpersonal skills to interact with the public in a professional manner.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but training is provided.
