Job summary

City of Plymouth operates the Plymouth Community Center and seeks an individual to manage and direct open gym programs. You will oversee activities such as basketball, pickleball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis, with programming primarily on weekends and some weekday evenings.

Anticipated hours are 10-15 per week, offering a flexible weekend-focused schedule. This entry-level leadership role emphasizes safety, crowd management, and ensuring participants wear wristbands after payment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends.
• Must be 16 years old.
• Must be able to work until 9:00PM on weeknights.
• Must be confident enforcing rules with participants.

Responsibilities

• Set up the gym for program use; take down equipment at the end of the evening
• Monitor play in the gym and flex the space as needed
• Facilitate wait lists for play as needed
• Facilitate full court to half court play as the crowd size dictates as needed
• Ensure all participants have paid and are displaying a wrist band
• Maintain sports equipment as needed
