Job summary

AEO in Ottawa, KS is seeking a Group Leader to act as the DC Operations Supervisor's right hand. You will lead team members, train new hires, and ensure safe, timely processing and shipping of merchandise.

You will also assist with material handling when not training or leading. As SME for department tasks, you will coach, develop, and coordinate with the DC Operations Admin & Safety Lead to maintain high morale and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a warehouse or DC setting.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving and planning skills.
• Experience in distribution center operations or warehouse work.
• Schedule flexibility, including nights and weekends.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assign associates to functions per production needs.
• Be SME on all department roles and tasks.
• Lead by example; foster integrity, ownership and performance.
• Coach and train associates; coordinate with Admin & Safety leads.
• Communicate information in absence of the DC Supervisor.
• Monitor production, quality and safety; provide feedback.
• Maintain safe work conditions and practices.
• Monitor activities and determine operational needs.
• Promote morale, customer focus and safety; ensure safety training.
• Report production information for the department.
• Resolve minor processing problems; escalate as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
