Job summary

Colonial Group seeks an entry-level assembler to read work orders, follow production drawings, and assemble parts using hand tools and fixtures. You will inspect components, manage intermediate tasks, and install finished assemblies into enclosures while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 months of training; testing for ABC program readiness is included.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 months of experience or training.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass appropriate testing to advance in the ABC program.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders and follow production drawings or instructions.
  • Assemble and secure parts using hand tools and fixtures.
  • Perform intermediate tasks such as potting, sanding, or color coding.
  • Inspect parts using basic testing methods.
  • Handle and install finished assemblies into enclosures.
  • Uphold company’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
  • Work with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and sustainability practices.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with certification standards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
