Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking an Assembler to read and interpret documents, drawings, and specifications, including electrical schematics. You will use the tools and equipment needed to perform drilling, tapping, wiring, soldering and panel assembly, with attention to quality and safety on weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and up to 6 months electrical manufacturing experience, strong English literacy, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work with precision in

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred 6 months electrical/electronic manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and write English, add and subtract, and follow instructions.
  • Standing and lifting up to 40 lbs with assistance.
  • Climbing, bending, and strength to drill through cabinets.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow non-routine instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets all related documents, drawings, and specifications, including electrical schematics.
  • Uses all tools and equipment necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Performs all manufacturing drilling, and tapping operations.
  • Performs all stripping, crimping, and cutting operations related to wires, regardless of size.
  • Makes mechanical adjustments as required.
  • Performs daily maintenance and checks on calibration of relevant equipment and tooling; maintains records related to this.
  • Participates in total quality control teams, which includes finding and solving problems.
  • Maintains process control.
  • Recognizes problems or breaks in procedure.
  • React to arising problems, take proper corrective action(s) and communicates these issues to the appropriate party.
  • Assists with changes in processes, (i.e., create jigs, participate in speak outs, and give input for process improvements).
  • Assembles panels, accessories into or on cabinets, and perform other miscellaneous mechanical assembly functions, with the exception of floor mount enclosures.
  • Assembles, wires, solders, and/or modifies any module, chassis, enclosure, panel, subassembly, or assembly, with the exception of floor mount enclosures.
  • Processes manual or computerized transactions (i.e., ability to retrieve data from and/or enter data).
  • Perform masking and touch-up paint operation on cabinets, panels, or components.
  • Sets-up and operates all nameplate, stamping, or any related machines to produce nameplates, tags, labels, etc.

Requirements for Assembler
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent related work experience.
  • Preferred 6 months electrical/electronic manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and write English, add and subtract, and follow instructions.
  • Consistently perform work in a timely, safe, and thorough manner.
  • Standing and lifting up to 40 lbs. (or more, if required, with assistance).
  • Climbing, bending, and strength to drill through cabinets is necessary.
  • Work requires hand and wrist dexterity sufficient for precision assembly and repair.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction of a non-routine nature.
  • Ability to check work for quality and accuracy as well as the ability to read documents related to job duties.
