Job summary

Velocity MSC is seeking Dispatchers to serve as the communication hub between our field technicians and customers. You will receive requests, relay messages, and schedule technicians from our Velocity database, ensuring accurate and timely information transfer.

Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, excellent communicators, and able to multitask with minimal supervision. Training will occur onsite during daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to work one weekend day per week.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and confident communication.
• Knowledge of networking principles and technologies.

Job description

General Summary

Velocity is seeking to hire Dispatchers to act as a communication point for our Velocity Field Technicians and customers. The Dispatch Coordinators receive requests, transmit messages and schedule technicians from the Velocity database to customer sites. This position involves verifying arrivals, negotiating pricing with technicians, and following up on scheduled appointments. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in challenging situations. Ideal candidates also will be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision.

The following shifts are available below:

8am-6:30pm EST (Friday-Monday)

10am-8:30pm EST (Friday-Monday)

1:30pm-12am (Friday-Monday)

• Must be able to train during the day onsite M-F from 9am-5:30pm EST*

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dispatch jobs sent to us from our customers to the technicians in our database.
• Schedule appointments for the jobs with the technicians.
• Work with customers to gain access to job sites as required.
• Verify the technicians are not missing their appointments.
• Recruit technicians for current and/or future jobs.
• Coordinate getting “special” equipment to job sites for technicians to use.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Velocity does not sponsor employment-based visas or provide sponsorship for this position.
