Job summary

InCommunity is seeking a Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) in Fairburn, GA for weekend, part-time hours. You will provide person-centered supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety, independence, and community inclusion.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, promoting participation in activities, administering medications as authorized, documenting accurately, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of direct support experience required.
• CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certification required, or the ability to obtain certifications within the timeframe established by InCommunity.
• DSP II Certification through the University of Georgia, NADSP or another InCommunity-approved program required, obtained within the timeframe established by InCommunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered services that promote choice, dignity, independence, and community inclusion.
• Support the implementation of ISPs, Behavior Support Plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Teach and assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, money management, and other life skills that promote greater independence.
• Provide one-to-one supports for individuals authorized to receive individualized services in accordance with approved service plans.
• Encourage participation in community activities that reflect each individual's interests, preferences, goals, and cultural background.
• Complete required documentation, including Therap documentation, shift notes, medication records, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
• Collaborate with Community Area Managers, clinicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality supports.
• Assist with onboarding and on-the-job coaching of new staff as requested by leadership.
