Job summary

InCommunity in Marietta, GA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (uncertified) for weekend, part-time positions. The role provides person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety, independence, and community inclusion.

Under supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, medication administration as authorized, transportation, meals, and documentation, following state and agency standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframes).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered services that promote choice, dignity, and independence.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, toileting, eating, dressing), administration of medication (as authorized), transportation, and community participation.
• Encourage participation in home and community activities that support each individual's goals, interests, and preferences.
• Assist individuals with transportation to appointments, recreational activities, employment, and community events.
• Promote skill development that increases independence and supports home and community living.
• Advocate for individual rights while encouraging meaningful relationships with family, friends, and members of the community.
