Job summary

Bello Machre is seeking Part-Time and Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for Residential Services in Anne Arundel County. DSPs provide loving care to adults with developmental disabilities, helping with daily living, community participation, and implementation of individual program plans.

Shifts vary by client needs; weekend availability is preferred. Training is provided and time spent in training is paid, with a supportive team focused on meaningful care in home-like settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no more than 5 points.
• Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must display a positive attitude when interacting with others.

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life
• Assists individuals in the development of friendships and other relationships
• Assists individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networks;
• Helps maintain a family-style household, which includes cooking balanced meals according to clients' needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanliness
• Attend to the individual needs of each person, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, or other needs in keeping with their care requirements.
• Support and encourage participation in the community, including going on recreational and social outings
