Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the listed fields is required.
• Experience with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance may be required on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one direct support to people with Autism and developmental disabilities to help them achieve independence.
• Act as a mentor and role model for socially acceptable and culturally valued interactions.
• Support individuals at home and in the community.
• Implement the Individual’s Support Plan (ISP) as developed.
• Assist and support personal safety and well-being.
• Help establish a daily/weekly schedule of activities to maximize independence.
• Stay up to date with all training and certifications.
• Participate hands-on in activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Social Work, ABA, Behavioral Medicine, Speech and Language, Rehabilitation, or Marriage and Family Therapy (or comparable human services field)
