Job summary

Jay Nolan Community Services in Northridge, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with autism and developmental disabilities with dignity and independence. The role follows a weekend schedule: 2nd and 4th weekends, 3:30pm Friday through 3:30pm Sunday.

You will provide one-to-one support, model positive interactions, and help with daily activities. Training, benefits, and a mission-driven environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field is required.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one direct support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities to promote independence.
• Mentor and model socially appropriate interactions within home and community settings.
• Assist individuals with behavioral, physical, communication challenges and safety in daily routines.
• Implement the Individual’s Support Plan (ISP) as developed.
• Help maintain personal safety and well-being for each individual.
• Support scheduling and planning of daily/weekly activities to maximize independence.
• Stay current with all required training and certifications.
• Participate hands-on in activities and community outings.
