Job summary

Jay Nolan Community Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with autism and developmental disabilities live with dignity and independence. You will provide one-to-one support, build daily living skills, and help implement each person's ISP to promote safety and growth.

This full-time, on-site role includes weekend shifts (Fri 9p – Sun 9p) with a pay range of $20.25 to $23.00 per hour and benefits such as health/dental insurance, retirement plan, and tuition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, nursing, social work, ABA, or related human services field.
• Experience with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one direct support to people with Autism and developmental disabilities to help them achieve independence.
• Act as a mentor and role model for socially acceptable ways to interact and support each other.
• Support individuals with behavioral, physical, or communication challenges in home and community.
• Implement the Individual’s Support Plan (ISP) as developed.
• Assist with personal safety and well-being and maintain daily/weekly activity schedules.
• Stay up to date with training and certifications and participate hands-on in activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, nursing, social work, ABA, behavioral medicine, speech and language, rehabilitation, marriage and family therapy, or a comparable degree in a human services field
