Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a weekend Cook in Blackburn to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents and staff. The role requires ownership of the kitchen, independence, and a commitment to high standards of food safety and service.

You will work Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, with consistent hours every weekend, ensuring meals are served on time and to the expected quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen and ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when required.
• Work closely with colleagues and communicate clearly to ensure the service runs smoothly.
• Work confidently and safely when working independently.
