Job summary

The Family Place in Dallas is seeking a weekend Cook to provide essential food service for transitional housing residents. You will prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals, follow USDA guidelines, operate commercial kitchen equipment, and maintain safety and sanitation standards.

You will develop weekly menus, manage kitchen inventory and ordering, stock supplies, and help create a welcoming dining environment that reflects care and respect for residents rebuilding their lives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years in a commercial kitchen, hospital, school, nursing home, or equivalent.
• Food Handler’s license and a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare well-balanced meals, desserts and snacks per menus.
• Operate blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers and other kitchen equipment.
• Monitor hot and cold temperatures during prep and service.
• Order food and supplies; manage inventory and stock shelves.
• Ensure sanitation regulations are followed and kitchen spaces stay clean.
