Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a Weekend Cook to join our team at Carlisle City Centre. You’ll work Saturday and Sunday, 12 hours per week, with brunch service on Saturday and a roast on Sunday for around 20 guests.

We’re looking for someone with cooking experience, who enjoys preparing fresh, home‑style food, can work independently, organise the kitchen and takes pride in safe food hygiene practices. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a Cook, Chef or within a catering environment.
• Enjoys preparing fresh, home-style food.
• Is confident working independently.
• Can organise their own workload and manage the kitchen.
• Takes pride in preparing and serving good-quality meals.
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• No formal food safety qualification? Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the kitchen during weekend shifts, preparing and serving meals for residents and staff.
• Prepare and serve brunch on Saturday and a traditional roast on Sunday for about 20 guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure smooth service.
• Work independently with other staff on site to support the wider operation.

Looking for regular weekend work that fits around yourother commitments?

Sodexo is looking for a Weekend Cook to join our team at a National Probation Service Approved Premises in CarlisleCity Centre.

This is a greatopportunity for an experienced Cook, Chef or someone with a passion forpreparing good food who is looking for regular weekend hours alongside othercommitments.

You'll be cooking for approximately 20 guests, making this a manageable kitchen environment where you can take pride in the food youprepare.

What you'll be doing

You'll take charge ofthe kitchen during your weekend shifts, preparing and serving meals forresidents and staff.

Saturday:

• Prepare and serve brunch
• Prepare food for approximately 20 guests
• Saturday meal service is at 4:30pm
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly

Sunday:

• Prepare and serve a traditional roast dinner
• Prepare and serve a pudding
• Sunday meal service is at 4:30pm
• You'll have flexibility around your start time to allow you to prepare everything for service

You'll be workingindependently in the kitchen, but you won't be responsible for the whole site.There are other members of staff on site, including cleaners, who support thewider operation.

What we're looking for

Don't have a formalfood safety qualification? That's okay. We can provide the necessary training to help you succeed in the role.

The hours

12 hours per week

Saturday & Sunday

12:00pm – 6:00pm

£13.01 per hour

We're also able tooffer some flexibility around your start time, provided you're available forthe required meal service.
