Job summary

Viper Northwest, Inc. in Albany, OR is seeking a CNC Vertical Mill Machinist for a weekend shift. This full-time, non-exempt role involves machine setup, programming oversight, tooling selection and precise metrology to meet blueprinted tolerances.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in a precision machine shop, strong GD&T understanding, and familiarity with Conversational and G-code controls. Excellent safety and teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Machinist in a precision machine shop.
• Preferred journeyman machinist with conversational experience.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to operate within a MS Windows environment; use of email.
• Ability to read, interpret blueprints, GD&T.
• Experience with data collection software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to tolerance based on blueprints using CNC machines.
• Set up mills and lathes, fixtures, and tooling; ensure alignment and safety.
• Select cutting tools for optimum performance across metals and plastics.
• Monitor tooling and equipment; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Verify settings by measuring first parts and subsequent pieces; uphold quality standards.
