Job summary

Faxon Machining is seeking an experienced machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce precision parts. You will interpret engineering drawings, perform program edits, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances and surface finish specifications.

The role requires strong knowledge of CNC operation, GD&T, and the use of precision measuring instruments, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation.
• Ability to read technical drawings, GD&T.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and materials.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality, tight-tolerance parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and/or manual lathes and mills.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Perform program edits, machine offsets, and tool changes as needed.
• Ensure all parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements using precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve part quality and process efficiency.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, following all safety and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality inspectors to resolve technical issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
