Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd’s Emergency Department Observation Unit in New Albany, IN is seeking a Charge Nurse WOW for part-time weekend coverage (7am-7pm) with 24 hours weekly and premium pay on WOW shifts. The unit cares for short-stay patients and offers entry-level leadership responsibilities, coordinating care, staffing, and patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Requirements include ASN, Indiana or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS within 12 months, 1 year nursing

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• One year of nursing experience required; One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
• Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource nurse for the department and provide leadership to staff on designated shifts.
• Coordinate patient care, staffing fluctuations, and patient flow during shifts.
• Oversee employees on the unit and address immediate staff issues while performing related tasks.
