Job summary

Sevita is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care in residential settings in the Salem, VA area. The role is hourly, non-exempt, either full-time or part-time, supporting 4–6 individuals per program and up to 10 in periodic programs.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, health maintenance, medications if assigned, transportation, and community integration, while documenting progress and maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Direct Support: assist individuals with daily living, socialization, and skill development.
• Records: accurately document progress and activities; maintain confidentiality.
• Management of Individuals' Assets: make budget-conscious purchases for individuals served.
• Relationships: maintain professional relationships with individuals and guardians; follow Sevita customer service standards.
• Reporting: report abuse/neglect; document medical and behavioral incidents.
• Rights: protect confidentiality and rights of persons served.
