Job summary

McKenney Home Care is seeking dependable caregivers for weekend opportunities in private homes around Venice, FL. This position offers one-on-one in-home care for seniors with flexible weekend shifts, including mornings and longer day/evening windows.

You will receive support from a family-owned agency with a focus on compassionate service. Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, meal prep, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and reporting changes to the office.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a dependable, professional attitude.
• Current hands-on CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Current TB test or willingness to obtain.
• Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and safe mobility.
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation, hydration, and medication reminders.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and maintaining a safe home environment.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or concerns to the office team.
• Follow individualized care plans and complete required documentation.

McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. We provide one-on-one care in the home and are currently seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers for weekend opportunities through our Venice office.

About the Weekend Hours

• Morning shifts such as 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, or 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
• Short or split shifts, including 2–3 hour AM or PM visits
• Standard shifts of 4–6 hours
• Extended day or overnight shifts of 7–12 hours
• 12-hour day and overnight shifts are frequently available

Schedules vary by client, with opportunities for consistent, ongoing assignments.
