Job summary

Empathy is seeking a Care Specialist for the Weekend Day Shift to provide empathetic chat and phone support to families. This part-time, remote US role supports during weekends with fixed hours and flexible adjustments as needed.

You will build care plans, navigate resources, handle inquiries, and maintain accuracy under SLA, collaborating with the Care Team while growing product knowledge. Compensation starts at $20–$23 per hour plus benefits and equity.

Qualifications

• Warm-hearted, empathetic and patient team member.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing or concierge/support role.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and digital tools.
• Comfort following defined procedures and translating steps clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert chat and phone support to users, addressing practical and emotional needs.
• Populate and maintain Care Plans for users.
• Handle tasks like closing accounts, arranging funeral pricing, sourcing vendors, and related requests.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication in Empathy's voice.
• Use critical thinking to resolve user challenges.
