Job summary

Kent School is seeking a part-time Safety Officer for the 1st shift on Saturdays and Sundays in Kent, CT. The position supports campus safety with an on-site schedule of 16 hours per week.

Responsibilities include patrolling property, monitoring safety hazards, logging activities, and assisting staff in enforcing safety rules. A valid driver’s license is required, with CT Guard Card preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• CT Guard Card (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Patrol school property, checking doors, gates, windows, and all points of entry to school property to ensure unauthorized persons have not gained access to the premises undetected.
• Immediately respond to all calls for assistance and service in a courteous, expeditious, and professional manner.
• Monitor campus property for safety hazards, report violations, and institute immediate corrective action if possible.
• Maintain a complete log for each tour of duty, registering all activity, the exact time of service, and all unusual conditions when discovered.
• Work assigned security details at school-sponsored events.
• Assist faculty and administration in enforcing all Kent School safety rules and regulations.
• Adhere to established school policies and guidelines and follow specific instructions.
• Immediately notify Director of Campus Safety & Security of all major incidents.
• Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
