Job summary

Kent School is seeking a Safety Officer for the 1st shift on Saturdays and Sundays. The role is part-time, on-site in Kent, CT, with a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift window and a 16-hour weekly schedule.

The Safety Officer will patrol property, deter crime, assist in emergencies, and coordinate with campus departments to maintain a safe environment for students and staff. A valid driver's license and CT Guard Card eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• CT Guard Card ability to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school property, check doors, gates, and entries for unauthorized access.
• Immediately respond to calls for assistance in a courteous, expeditious manner.
• Monitor campus for safety hazards, report violations and take corrective action.
• Maintain a complete duty log with activity times and unusual conditions.
• Work security details at school-sponsored events.
• Assist faculty and administration in enforcing safety rules and regulations.
• Notify Director of Campus Safety & Security of major incidents.
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
