Job summary

The Blanchard Institute is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide practical, ongoing support to residents in addiction recovery. This PRN weekend role involves supervising male residents in private living areas, modeling healthy daily habits and offering guidance grounded in lived experience.

You will document progress, assist with goal-setting, link clients to community resources, and support families in understanding recovery processes while maintaining program privacy and safety.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• Bachelor's degree in a human services field or equivalent experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR Certification and Crisis Intervention Certification are required or preferred.
• 1 year of continuous sobriety and commitment to recovery support.

Responsibilities

• Meet with residents directly in their living spaces to discuss recovery goals, deliver emotional support and model healthy daily habits.
• Recognize early signs of distress or relapse triggers and use de-escalation strategies.
• Foster community among male roommates, help resolve conflicts.
• Offer personal insights from your recovery journey, providing hope and practical advice.
• Help clients establish personal recovery goals and create actionable plans to achieve them.
• Monitor progress and encourage engagement in recovery activities.
