Job summary

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals in Phoenix seeks a Behavioral Associate to provide direct behavioral care to patients with psychiatric conditions, collaborating with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. You will engage in de-escalation, safety planning, and observation to support patient well-being.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of direct care experience, with a preference for those with prior behavioral health experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or some college in psychology/social services preferred.
• Minimum 2 years direct care experience preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify high risk patients and support safety plans.
• Perform environmental/patient safety rounds and observe in emergencies.
• Understand patient characteristics to prevent loss of control.
• Participate in shift hand-offs, rounds, and meetings.
• Lead or co-lead discussion groups on anger and safety.
• Review incident reports to identify preventable factors.
