• Supports and promotes nursing department functions on the unit.
• Responds to emergencies per policy and procedure.
• Assigns duties to staff to deliver care.
• Conducts rounds and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Supervises and evaluates direct resident care.
• Obtain report from relieved nurse and document follow-up actions.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Identify resident problems and initiate emergency care.
• Participate in facility education and in-service programs.
• Supervise Nursing Assistants and provide resident care as needed.
• Perform comprehensive resident assessments.
• Report changes to RN Supervisor/Physician.
