Job summary

Black Cap in Waterbury, VT is seeking a friendly, efficient part-time barista to join our team. You'll prepare and serve coffee, tea, and light fare with care, while maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Compensation includes base pay of $14.45/hr plus tips, totaling roughly $19.45–$24.45/hr with opportunity to earn through tips. Role requires availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays weekly at our Waterbury location.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced cafe environment.
• Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders accurately, and deliver friendly service.
• Describe menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage characteristics.
• Suggest upgrades and complementary items to customers.
• Follow cash handling, POS, and food safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare and serve beverages and food per recipes and standards.
• Taste and monitor beverage quality throughout shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of service areas and stations.
• Restock service stations and inventory as needed.
• Perform opening and closing duties per store procedures.
