Job summary

KCCI, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, is seeking a Weekend Anchor/Reporter to bring energy to our anchor desk. You will report in the field, enterprise exclusives, and craft stories with viewers in mind. You will write and edit scripts and mentor staff as needed.

You’ll be versatile, work well under tight deadlines, and have strong live reporting skills. The role reports to the News Director and requires weekend and overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience required.
• 2+ years of reporting experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to work weekends and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism and personality.
• Guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
• Plan, gather and assemble stories for day-of news or projects.
• Create content for both linear and digital platforms.
• Develop exclusive stories and enterprise angles with sources.
• Appear at public events on behalf of the station.
• Contribute photos, video, and text updates to digital channels.
