Job summary

KCCI, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, is seeking a weekend Anchor/Reporter to bring energy to our anchor desk and hit the field for big stories. You will enterprise exclusives, tell compelling stories, and complete live shots with poise and credibility.

You will write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, work under tight deadlines, develop sources, and mentor reporters. This role reports to the News Director at KCCI.

Qualifications

2+ years of anchor experience required.
2+ years of reporting experience required.
Demo reel reflects everyday work.
Anchor connects with viewers and reports.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
Guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
Plan, gather and assemble stories for day-of news or special projects.
Create content across linear and digital platforms.
Develop exclusive content and enterprise angles.
Build a network of sources for timely stories.
Appear at public events on behalf of the station.
Post updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
Summarize information into clear components.
