Job summary

KCCI, the CBS affiliate in Des Moines, IA, is now hiring a Traffic/Right Now Anchor Reporter. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. You will enterprise exclusives, tell compelling stories, and complete live shots. You will write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind.

You are versatile, enterprising, can work fast and efficiently, and work well under tight deadlines. You will report to the News Director.

Qualifications

• Experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station.
• Ability to ad-lib in breaking news situations and deliver live reports.
• Familiarity with traffic systems and social media engagement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare morning and evening traffic reports with graphics.
• Gather news and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions.
• Deliver concise live traffic reports for shows and update mobile platforms.
• Write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind.
• Develop sources and enterprise exclusive traffic stories.
• Coordinate with managers to craft deeper, exclusive content.
• Appear at public events and meet deadlines across multiple stories.
