Job summary

BETA Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Structural Assembly team on the weekend shift to improve cycle times, reduce labor hours, and cut non-conformances in airframe assembly.

You will link Engineering to Production, develop work instructions, apply FMEA/DOE, and drive lean manufacturing with automation to enhance yield. 12-hour shifts Fri-Sun, full-time role based in Vermont.

Qualifications

  • Motivated to expedite and improve aircraft production.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience building and fixing things.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with cross-functional teams (production, design, quality, supply chain, certification, manufacturing).
  • Flexibility and comfort in working in a quickly changing environment.
  • Direct experience working in manufacturing.
  • Experience with CAD design – 3DX/CATIA preferred.
  • Experience with ERP system tools – PLEX will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement assembly/installation methods to produce complex assemblies and complete aircraft.
  • Plan, create, and improve work instructions to integrate engineering design requirements into production.
  • Use FMEA & DOE techniques to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to start-up and certification.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma tools to drive continuous product improvements, integrate automation solutions, and increase yield.
  • Generate manufacturing assembly documentation and provide direct support in day-to-day operations.
  • Design and implement manufacturing aids and tools for precision locating, drilling, fastening, bonding.
  • Active participation in program scheduling to coordinate production timelines and identify critical path items.
